By day, we’re just a couple of STEM girlies ⚙️🧬 – writing code, designing buildings, solving problems (and probably swearing at contractors). But by night, we’re planning our next escape. We’re not full-time travelers, not digital nomads, just two people who really love to travel. However, we haven’t quit our careers to see the world or sold all our belongings to live out of a backpack (though we would love to!). Instead, travel is a passion, a way to reset, and a hobby that’s been part of our lives since the year 2000.
Growing up, we were lucky enough to travel from a young age. Our family often took road trips across Europe during the summer. It’s how we fell in love with the journey, not just the destination.
After years of travelling, we’ve realised most travel blogs tend to say the same thing. However, a lot of the places that go viral just don’t live up to the hype. So we’re sharing the experiences that do — the places we actually loved, the food spots worth going back for, and the kind of slow, grounded travel that sticks with you.
We grew up with Balkan roots — Eastern European, loud, and proud. That probably explains our love for strong coffee, stronger opinions, and high (unrealistic) standards. Growing up this way taught us to embrace culture in every sense. To connect with people, respect their traditions, and find beauty in what makes each place unique. The Balkans will always feel like home. And we love sharing those local gems and honest insights you won’t find in a TikTok roundup.
This is our corner of the internet to keep it real, share what we find, and hopefully help you make your own travels a little more meaningful and intentional.
